For example, when you give birth, the White House will send your child a birthday card welcoming him or her to the world as a US citizen. All you have to do is fax a request to 202-395-1232, attention White House Greeting Officer. They will also send birthday greetings to any US citizen 80 or older. Just send in the request 6 weeks in advance and include the name, date of birth and address of the person you wish to receive a White House greeting.
Here's a fun birthday fact - the earliest celebrations were believed to ward off evil spirits.
