Celebrating someone's fiftieth birthday can be a lot of fun; however, making your party theme or slogan something unique can seem pretty tough. There are a few good ones out there, you've just got to know where to look.
Taking into consideration the person you're celebrating is a good idea also. (You probably wouldn't want a racy 50th birthday slogan like, "Phuck Phifty" for a wholesome first grade teacher, but then again, maybe...) Anyway, the kinds of 50th birthday slogans come in three general categories - personalized, clever, or X-rated.
Personalizing your slogan can be fun and also flattering to the birthday boy or girl. Getting them a shirt that says, "Still younger than Mel Gibson and Madonna," or any of their favorite "older" celebrities can get a few laughs. It also empowers them to celebrate this milestone birthday without feeling so old. After all, will Madonna ever seem old?
Maybe your mother is celebrating her golden birthday this year and she commonly jokes about having hot flashes. Perfect! Get her a t-shirt printed up that says, "Real women don't have hot flashes - they have power surges." She'll be sure to giggle and so will everyone else who sees her wearing it!
Another great way to go when searching for 50th birthday slogans is to find something humorous, witty, or clever. Sayings such as, "Which sounds better, five decades or half a century?" or "Today is the 21st anniversary of my 29th birthday," make people think, but still are bound to get a few laughs.
You might also consider something insightful, perhaps, "Growing old is inevitable, growing up is optional," or even, "Forty is the old age of youth; fifty is the youth of old age." These 50th birthday slogans seem to celebrate life more than to make a mockery of getting up there in years. Simple, one-word or one-liner phrases are great too. Words like "vintage," "retro," or "antique" are interesting spins on the dreaded word "old" and are more flattering, as well.
Now, for those with a more racy sense of humor, there is always the X-rated category. These might be more appropriate for parties where there won't be small children present, but hey, to each their own.
Like the aforementioned, "Phuck Phifty" play on phonics, there is also the more commonly acceptable, "Fifty: The Ultimate F' Word." Another entertaining route that still sticks to this category to a certain degree, is that of mentioning the deterioration of bodily control and the body in general. 50th birthday slogans mentioning falling body parts or referring to "Old Farts" also fit into this category. Let your mind race through the gutter for a minute and you're bound to think of something!
Obviously, there are a lot of ways to go about selecting your slogan for a person's fiftieth birthday celebration. With the wide variety of options and their varying degree of appropriateness, it's always a good idea to get your slogan approved before the party. Nothing could be more awkward than a raunchy slogan at a party where grandchildren are running around!
The important thing is to have fun and make it personal. Do that and it will surely be a hit!
