Christmas Yard Decor - Ideas for Wonderful Decorations
Are you seeking ideas and inspiration for Christmas yard decor?
Adults and children seem to love to decorate their yards at Christmas time with festive Christmas yard decor. From nativity scenes to inflatable snowmen, the possibilities are abundant to show off your festive spirit by taking the time to decorate your yard.
A very traditional Christmas yard decoration is the outdoor nativity scene. Having a nativity scene gives you a chance to show off your faith and creative flair. There are illuminated scenes, motifs, and silhouettes available. Some even opt to build much of the scene out of wood, such as the manger and the stable, and purchase figurines such as Jesus, Mary, Joseph, and the Wise Men.
There are always the traditional outdoor lights to brighten up your yard decor. There are a variety of lights available, including LED, mini lights, rope lighting, and multicolored traditional lights. You can attach the lights to the edge of your roof, around your doors and windows, around your bushes, or decorate a tree or two in your yard. Lights always seem to add that festive touch to Christmas yard decor.
If you have a light pole, you can wrap festive garland and bows around it to decorate it. Also, if you have a sidewalk, you can line it with starlight spheres on stakes. Starlight spheres are celestial lighted balls and they come in various colors and really add flavor to yard decor. You can also use starlight spheres other ways, such as to hang from a tree or your porch. They come in all sorts of colors and range from 5" to 10".
If you like silhouettes, there are silhouettes of snowmen, Santa, deer, elves, and more available. Silhouettes come in all sorts of sizes and fit most budgets. They are a great way to show your Christmas spirit in your yard and add bright and fun colors to your decorations.
Moravian stars are fun Christmas decorations. They come in assorted colors, including red, white, pink, blue, amber, and more. For your Christmas yard decor, you can hang them from your porch or branches from trees.
Inflatable decor is becoming more and more popular. There are inflatable snowmen, Santa's, deer, elves, and even fictional characters such as Winnie the Pooh and Snoopy. Some inflatable figures are quite tall, reaching up to 10 feet.
You can decorate other things than just your yard as well. You can always decorate your mailbox or windows with garland and lighted decorations. You can line your driveway or sidewalk with candy cane poles, or decorate your front porch and front door. Use common Christmas decor such as snowflakes, garland, pinecones, and holly in your decorating efforts. You have complete freedom in being as creative as you'd like.
Christmas yard decor is becoming more and more common and reasonably priced. If your budget is low, consider purchasing a little bit every year instead of a lot at one time. Also, the day after Christmas, there are plenty of 1/2 off Christmas decor sales, so allotting some money to purchase a few decorative items on that day is a wonderful idea.
The key is to enjoy the process and each year take pride in your Christmas yard decor, knowing that it not only brings you pleasure, but others as well as they drive by and see your festive spirit.
