An Easter Basket to Make at Home

Finding the right Easter basket to make this year does not have to be a long and arduous process.

In fact, getting the right Easter basket to make can be as easy as heading down to your local arts and crafts store, picking up a few supplies, and spending a little bit of time putting it all together.

One of the great aspects of making your own handmade Easter basket is that you can do this with your children, a loved one, or by yourself.

Why would someone want to find the right Easter basket to make themselves? Why not go to the store and buy one that is already done? While it may be far too easy to get caught up in the fast-paced world we live in, sometimes, it is nice to just take a step back, relax, and remember that once upon a time, people actually made their own things because it meant more in the long run.

That is what makes creating your own Easter basket such a great investment. It will not likely save you a great deal of money, or any, depending on the products that you use, but it will be more meaningful in the long run.

You can choose paper or other materials for your Easter basket to make, and whichever one you choose is entirely up to you. There is no right or wrong method.

• If you choose a paper Easter basket to make, then lay out a sheet of paper and measure 9 inches square and cut the paper to this shape. Next, you will want to divide this sheet of paper into nine even squares.
  
  
• Label these squares as A, B, C along the top, D, E, F in the middle, and G, H, I on the bottom.
  
  
• Cut a line between A and B, B and C, G and H, and H and I.
  
  
• Fold the sections B and H up. Next, fold in A, C, G, and I.
  
  
• Glue A to the outside of B, then C to the outside of A.
  
  
• Glue G to the outside of H, then I to the outside of G.
  
  
• You now have your basic basket. Next you need to make a handle.
  
  
• For the handle, cut a 12 to 15 inch strip of paper and affix it using a stapler and glue to the basket.
  
  
• If you want to make a larger basket that can hold more Easter eggs or candy, then all you would need to do is start with a larger piece of paper.
  
  
• Decorate the outside of the Easter basket in different colors, which can resemble a colored Easter egg when it is done.

Figuring out the right Easter basket to make will likely pose a greater challenge to you than actually making the Easter basket. As you can see from these simple instructions, making an Easter basket is not that difficult and in fact can be a great craft activity to do with your own children. If you are a teacher in a school system, making Easter baskets can be a great activity for your class.
