Christmas Brunch Recipes - Simple Yet Delicious Foods to Prepare

Are you searching for some simple yet delicious Christmas brunch recipes?

With all the hustle, bustle, and excitement on Christmas morning, most people opt to skip breakfast and make a delicious brunch instead. Brunch can be something with eggs, like a casserole, or it can be something sweet, like a tart or sweet rolls.

Here are some appetizing Christmas brunch recipes for you and your family to enjoy this holiday season.

Blueberry and Banana Tart

  • 1 1/2 cup flour
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1 1/2 cup blueberries
  • 2 bananas, sliced
  • 2 teaspoons lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons butter, chopped

Directions for this Christmas brunch recipe:

  • Add the flour and spices to a large bowl and add the butter and the sugar. Mix with your hands until the mixture becomes much like breadcrumbs. Add the buttermilk and mix until it becomes the consistency of soft dough.

  • Use cooking spray to lightly grease a pizza pan or cookie sheet. Put a little flour on a clean surface such as your table or counter, and roll your dough out into a circle shape. Place it on the baking pan and roll the edges to form a rim.

  • Spread your blueberries over the dough evenly. Toss the sliced bananas with lemon juice in a bowl and then place evenly on top of the blueberries. You can sprinkle the top of the mixture with a teaspoon of sugar if you want to give it that extra sweet taste.

  • Bake at 400 degrees F for 20 to 25 minutes. Serve warm.

    Fantastic Fried Dough

It is a tradition at my house every Christmas to make what we call, "Toutans", or fried dough, for brunch. My whole family looks forward to this simple, yet delicious brunch.

Ingredients for this Christmas brunch recipe:

  • bread dough
  • syrup
  • cinnamon
  • olive Oil

  • Purchase bread dough or make your own. I usually purchase frozen bread rolls and allow them to thaw overnight in a large bowl.

  • Add 2 tablespoons of olive oil to a skillet. Cut off a piece of dough and flatten in out slightly to about the size of a pancake. Place it in the skillet and sprinkle cinnamon on top. Fry the dough on each side until golden brown.

  • Remove from pan. Pour syrup over top and enjoy warm.

    Best Christmas Brunch Egg Casserole

Ingredients for this Christmas brunch recipe:

  • 8 eggs
  • 1 1/2 cups milk
  • 1 pint half and half cream
  • 1 package croutons, seasoned
  • 1 cup Swiss cheese, shredded
  • 1 cup pepper jack cheese, shredded
  • 1 1/2 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 1 tablespoon minced onion
  • salt and pepper

  • Use a 13 x 9 baking dish and layer the croutons in a single layer. Sprinkle all the different cheeses on the top.

  • Get a large bowl and add the eggs, milk, half and half, onion, salt and pepper. Beat together and then pour over the croutons and cheese. Cover and put in the refrigerator overnight.

  • In the morning, bake it at 350 degrees F for 50 to 60 minutes. Allow it to cool slightly before serving.

This Christmas, feel free to skip breakfast and make a delicious brunch that everyone will enjoy. You can make one dish or make several so that everyone has a choice. We hope you enjoy these Christmas brunch recipes, and Merry Christmas!
