Many teachers plan small Halloween parties for their students, and one of the staples at a school Halloween party is the cupcake. Here are several Halloween cupcake ideas you can use to create a fun treat for your child's class.
One idea is to simply prepare a mix following the directions on the package and frost the cupcakes. You can then top the cupcakes with a variety of items, such as plastic spiders or bats, or chocolates in Halloween shapes.
If you want to be more creative, however, here are some Halloween cupcake ideas that are guaranteed to make you a success.
Batty cupcakes are a great addition to your Halloween treats. To make batty cupcakes, you will need the following: cupcakes (prepared from a mix or your favorite recipe), chocolate icing, white frosting, M and M minis, jujube candies, thin mints (round), and thin mints (square).
Cut your round thin mints into two semi-circle pieces. Cut your square mints into wedges. Set aside. Frost cupcakes with the chocolate icing. Take your M and M minis and jujube candies and create the bat's face. Using your thin mint wedges, add the bat's ears and, using the thin mint semi-circles, create the bat's wings. Take your white frosting to add the bat's fangs.
Another fun and festive Halloween cupcake idea is the daddy long legs cupcakes. In order to make daddy long leg cupcakes, you will need: cupcakes prepared from your favorite mix or recipe, chocolate frosting, round candies for the spider's eyes, black licorice strings, candy sprinkles and white frosting.
Frost your cupcakes. Take the round candies (red candies are best for the spooky effect) and place them on the cupcake. Now, take your white frosting and create the spider's fangs. Cover the cupcake in the candy sprinkles to make it look like hair. Take the licorice strings and place four on each side of the cupcake to create the spider's legs. You have now created daddy long leg cupcakes for your Halloween party.
A third option for your Halloween cupcake ideas are sweet skull cupcakes. For these, you will need the following: cupcakes prepared with your favorite mix or recipe, marshmallows, confectioner's sugar, white frosting, junior mints, chocolate chips and almond slices.
How do you go about preparing this Halloween cupcake idea? First, dip kitchen shears into the confectioner's sugar and use them to cut your marshmallows in two. Pull one side of the cupcake paper out and place a marshmallow half against the cupcake in order to create the jaw of your skull. Frost each cupcake with white icing and use the junior mints to create the eyes, a chocolate chip for the nose, and almond slices for the teeth. Dab a bit of white icing into the center of each junior mint to create the pupils.
Halloween cupcakes are a quick and easy recipe idea to add to your Halloween party menu. Cupcakes are the perfect addition to your Halloween party because they are easy, fun, versatile, and the ideal serving size. We hope you and your guests enjoy the Halloween cupcake ideas presented above!
