Interesting Halloween Recipe Ideas - Creative Spooky Foods, Drinks and Snacks to Serve

Are you looking for some fun Halloween recipe ideas?

Halloween is a fun time for children and adults alike. With rising gas prices and safety issues, many people are opting to have Halloween parties at home rather than the traditional trick-or-treat outings of the past.

Also, schools and community organizations are presenting fall festivals around Halloween for parents and students to come out and celebrate - which usually includes some of your favorite Halloween recipe ideas.

Whether it's a Halloween party or fall festival, food is going to play an integral role in the celebration. Halloween is a great time to show off your creativity in the kitchen with these Halloween recipe ideas. Many of these recipes can be made the day before your party, which will leave you more time for decorating or planning games.

Most parties include some kind of punch to drink. There are a number of punch recipes you can make for your Halloween party. One idea is making a bowl of Witch's Brew. For Witch's Brew, you will need the following items: one powder free rubber glove (rinsed and turned inside out), one 10 ounce package of frozen raspberries - thaw them, 2 envelopes of unflavored gelatin, 2.5 cups of cranberry juice, 2 liters of non-alcoholic sparkling cider, 2 liters of ginger ale, and 6 gummy snakes.

First, you want to make your frozen hand to place in the center of your punch. Keep in mind that it may take 2 or 3 days for the hand to become frozen solid, so plan accordingly.

In a small bowl, mix the cranberry juice and raspberries. In a small saucepan, pour two cups of the raspberry / cranberry juice mixture and then add gelatin mix and let stand for 2 minutes. Stirring constantly, warm mixture over low heat until gelatin dissolves. Pour mixture back into small mixing bowl with the remaining cranberry juice mixture.

Pour the mixture into the glove, tie the end to keep the mixture from pouring out, and place in the freezer until the hand is frozen solid. Once the hand is frozen solid, carefully cut the glove away and discard the glove. Place the hand in the bowl (or you can get a plastic cauldron from any party supply store) with the fingers pointing up and the wrist leaning against one side of the bowl. Add your ginger ale and cider and garnish the edges of the bowl with the gummy snakes.

For your food options, there are many creative recipes to continue your Halloween theme. One Halloween recipe idea is Halloween cupcakes. Prepare cupcakes according to the package and top with Halloween items such as spider rings, gummy eyes or Halloween shaped chocolates.

Ice cream witches are also a fun Halloween recipe idea to serve at your Halloween party. For Halloween witches, you will need the following: vanilla ice cream (or you can use a green colored ice cream such as pistachio), sugar cones (the ice cream cones with pointed ends), coconut, black food coloring, chocolate candies such as M and M's, candy corn and red rope candy.

Color your coconut using the black food coloring and set aside. Place one scoop of vanilla ice cream on a small saucer. Using the M and M's, candy corn and rope candy, create the witch's face. Now, using the black coconut, make the witch's hair. Once the face and hair are in place, set the cone on the top to make the witch's hat.

When it comes to Halloween entertaining, there are a number of Halloween recipe ideas that you can use to make your party memorable. We hope you enjoy the ones we have provided above.
