Do you want to have fun in the sun and just lie on a beach somewhere? Or do you want to be more adventurous and hike up a mountain together? How much time do you have to spare for your honeymoon? Would you prefer a luxurious couple's resort or cruise? Or would you rather go to a small hotel or bed and breakfast in a place you've both always wanted to visit?
There are websites to help you with all your romantic honeymoon getaway plans. You just have to pick a destination and let them know when you want to go. Keep in mind that the weather might not be the best if you visit other countries or the Caribbean at certain times of the year - hurricane season lasts from August to October, with early to mid September being the time you're most likely to experience severe weather in the Caribbean. It can also be chilly and rainy in Hawaii in the winter. You can't predict the weather, but make a note of the above!
For the more unconventional romantic honeymoon getaways, you can choose an adventure honeymoon. These range from bike riding in Alaska to scuba diving just about anywhere. If you want more than simply lying around on a beach or the deck of a cruise ship, then consider an adventure - you might just find that there's something on the list that you'd both love to do, and you can still keep things romantic.
If you're looking for a romantic honeymoon getaway at sea and don't want to join thousands of other people on a huge cruise ship, then consider a Windstar cruise. Their yachts are available for cruises in the Mediterranean and Caribbean seas and are the epitome of luxury with gourmet food and fantastic cabins. Imagine cruising quietly through the waves under huge white sails and with only 300 other passengers.
Perhaps you've decided on a couples-only vacation destination, such as one of the Sandals resorts which are located throughout the Caribbean. This would be a good choice for a romantic honeymoon getaway, as sometimes you just don't want to have children splashing in the pool around you when you're having your sunset cocktail!
A romantic honeymoon doesn't have to be two weeks in the sun - you may only have a few days available to get away from the world and be together. You could have a weekend wine tasting trip or stay for a few days at a small bed and breakfast inn.
Some of them are outstanding. Many of them are in quaint Victorian houses and they all give you freedom to do exactly what you want. Of course, you have to leave your room after breakfast, so that might not be the perfect choice for some romantic honeymoon couples!
Whatever romantic honeymoon getaway destination you choose, make it special by creating everlasting memories that you will always remember. Get up early and watch the sun rise. Go for a walk in the moonlight and wish upon a star. Have a romantic dinner together in your room, on the balcony or veranda - just the two of you together. Or order a late breakfast in bed and indulge yourselves. Enjoy this special time together on your romantic honeymoon getaway!
