Romantic Ways to Get Engaged - Ideas for a Great Moment

Are you cracking your head for some romantic ways to get engaged?

Most of the time, the man still proposes to the woman. Now, sometimes, a woman will pop the question, but for most of those in relationships, it's up to the man to decide he's ready to commit.

Since commitment is such a big thing, it's really important to make sure that the proposal is done right, so that the lady can see how much you truly love her. So, don't think of your proposal as a "ho-hum" occasion - remember that you're going to cherish the moment just as much as she does.

For this reason, it's so important to make sure that your proposal is romantic and from the heart. If you're not really a romantic person, this can seem a little tougher than it should be, but if you are a romantic, this should be fairly easy.

For romantic ways to get engaged, you should first take the time to look at what makes a situation romantic, and then go from there. For instance, you don't really want to be in a bright crowded place when you're trying to plan a romantic proposal; instead, make sure to take the time to dim the lights or stick to candle light. You might also want to speak softly and have some intimate time for just the two of you.

If you live by a beach or decide to go on a get-a-way, consider a beach vacation as part of romantic ways to get engaged. Taking a walk on the beach at sunset is very romantic and can set the stage. Hold hands and walk in the waves. Make sure she can see how much you love her and, as the sun is hitting the horizon, tell her how much you want to spend your life with her. While this is a simple proposal idea, it is also extremely romantic.

Another of the romantic ways to get engaged might be with a quiet evening at home. Maybe start talking about plans for the future and, as she gets involved in the fantasy, let her know that you're eager to plan a future with her. For some people, the most romantic proposals are made when you're snuggled up together on the couch after dinner.

However, sometimes, a truly romantic way to propose and romantic ways to get engaged might involve more people than just the two of you, so if you want to share the moment, consider planning a surprise engagement party. You can do this in a couple of different ways, but make sure that she will feel beautiful and be able to fully enjoy the occasion. If you're worried that it might take a moment or two for her to answer, or that she will freeze up in front of a crowd, consider proposing first and taking her home to the party.

Most of the time, however, when you propose to your girlfriend, you have a pretty good idea that she is going to say "yes" to your question; even then, it's still very normal to be nervous and worry that your bride-to-be will say no. Don't panic or freak out if she doesn't answer you right away. It might take a couple of seconds to recover her senses in order to give you an answer at all.

This can be a wonderfully overwhelming moment for your girlfriend, so take it easy and give her a moment. Yes, she will cry and she might start to laugh, don't worry - she's thrilled, so take this time to be even more romantic and love her by holding her hand, hugging her or kissing her.

Also, remember that when you're looking for romantic ways to get engaged, you don't have to be over the top, and you don't have to do something which nobody else has done. But you should remember that this is an occasion which will mark the beginning of the rest of your lives, so make it something really special and romantic so the two of you can cherish it forever.
