Inexpensive Homemade Gifts - Great Presents on a Low Budget

Do you need tips and ideas for inexpensive homemade gifts?

Perhaps you're considering giving homemade gifts for your occasions this year. Whether you're crafty or not, you still can't afford to be shelling out a ton of money on supplies for your gifts, and that scrapbook can really start to get expensive.

So, what kinds of homemade gifts can you make that won't cost you so much money that you blow the budget? Here are some inexpensive homemade gift ideas.

  • Typically, when you're giving gifts of food, they won't cost too much and you can put quite a few gifts together at one time. Give friends and family members muffin or cookie mixes and package them in a nicely decorated jar or foil lined paper bag and you'll likely wind up spending only a few dollars per gift. If you don't want to feel too cheap, you can add some hot coco mix or tea bags to your gift for a lovely presentation.

  • Other gifts which are homemade and won't cost you too much per gift to consider are homemade bath salts. This is a great gift to give to the person on your list who loves to relax and unwind while pampering themselves. You can get the salts at specialty salt stores or online, and a 5 gallon bag usually costs about $11, or you can buy Epsom salts at most grocery stores. The bottles for this gift range in price, but you can get some pretty ones at the right place for a couple of dollars, and you'll probably only need one bottle of essential oil, which can range in price from $10 to about $20, depending on your choice. In the end, though, for three bottles of bath salts, you're spending about $9 per gift - surely considered to be inexpensive homemade gifts. Don't forget to package them with pretty ribbons and tags so your recipient will fully appreciate all your hard work.

  • Sachets are a pretty, inexpensive homemade gift that your recipient will love to use all over their house. Mulled cider sachets are easy and fun because they'll offer great fragrance to the home, and you only need cinnamon sticks, cloves, allspice berries, and anise and sachet bags. Package them in pretty, foil lined boxes and you'll want to keep these for yourself. Not to worry - they are cheap enough to make that you can even have some for your house.

  • One of the least expensive homemade gifts you can make is a coupon book. You can print these from your printer or you can make them yourself, but make sure that the coupons are for things that your recipient wants, such as a "day off" for mom. Dinner for dad or a car cleaning is also a great coupon to include in your book, and no matter who the recipient of this coupon booklet is, make sure to include the essential free hug or special time together.

When you're looking for inexpensive homemade gift ideas, it might seem a little bit frustrating, but you should know you can give classy, inexpensive homemade gifts that aren't hard to put together. Just a little time, a little money and some creativity will have you giving gifts that everyone on your list will absolutely love and appreciate.
