If you are invited to someone's home for Thanksgiving dinner, a bouquet is a wonderful hostess gift. Chances are your host will put this directly onto the Thanksgiving table as an added centerpiece. It is a smart thought to purchase flowers in a vase for your hostess. She will be so busy with the dinner, saving her the time to search and fill a vase as well as trim the flowers will be much appreciated.

Cornucopia: A typical traditional Thanksgiving centerpiece is a cornucopia. You can fill these great little baskets with an assortment of Indian corn, gourds, mini pumpkins, and even some assorted flowers. If you use silk flowers and fake fruit and vegetables, it is something that can be carefully packed away and reused each year. If you prefer fresh, adding some nice fall fruits such as pomegranates and oranges can also double as an added light dessert option. Fall Vegetables: A simple but effective Thanksgiving centerpiece is an assortment of loose fall vegetables. Small pumpkins, assorted gourds, pomegranates, and corn husks can be piled successfully on the table with a few interestingly shaped twigs. Put these on a placemat with coordinating colors in the middle of your table. Or you might prefer to place these in a simple woven basket.

Candles: Candles in assorted sizes can be arranged with cranberries, pips, and dried orange slices for lovely Thanksgiving centerpieces. If you prefer to keep your candles in containers, you can place them in large clear glass jars surrounded by hazelnuts, popcorn, or even cranberries.

Unique Candle and Flower Holders: Thanksgiving is the chance to use unique items to create unusual, one-of-a-kind centerpieces for your dinner table. Hollowed out artichokes make beautiful candle holders. Wrapping asparagus or green beans with raffia around a thick candle makes very unique candle holders. Small to medium pumpkins that are hollowed out and washed make beautiful flower displays. A small piece of florist foam will hold the flowers firmly in place.
