Cute Halloween Costumes for Kids - Creative Ideas for the Children to Look Cute
Are you wondering what could be some cute Halloween costumes to dress your child up in?
While most people associate Halloween with scary stories, horror movies and spooky costumes, Halloween is not only limited to frightening costumes. Many individuals opt for cute costumes instead of gory, spooky Halloween outfits.
Parents of young children are particularly more likely to purchase or craft cute Halloween costumes for their infants or children than spooky outfits.
If cuteness is your theme, you have many options to choose from when deciding on your costume.
For example, with infants and toddlers, there are a number of cute storybook characters you can choose from when dressing up your child. One standard cute Halloween costume is the pumpkin costume.
For this, you will need a long sleeved orange infant body suit, 1/2 yard yellow felt cloth, and a green hat. Cut eyes, nose and a mouth out of your yellow felt cloth and attach to the front of the body suit using fabric glue - let glue dry completely. Simply place the green hat on the baby's head and you have created a pumpkin costume. Another option is to use yellow, glow in the dark fabric paint to add the pumpkin's face. This will help make your child more visible after dark.
Another cute Halloween costume for your infant or toddler is the gingerbread man. For this costume, you will need a hooded, long sleeved infant body suit that is dark brown in color and white fabric paint. Using the fabric paint, add the "buttons, trim and embellishments" to the gingerbread man. Let the fabric paint dry completely. You have now created a cute gingerbread man costume for your child.
When selecting your fabric paint, find one that glows in the dark. Since the gingerbread costume is a very dark brown, glow in the dark paint will help make your child visible after sundown.
A third cute Halloween costume idea for your toddler would be to create a turtle costume. For this costume, you will need a body suit brown in color, a large straw hat (make sure it is a very light color), green spray paint, Velcro tape (available at most craft stores), a brown cap the same shade as the body suit, and black paint.
Lay the body suit face down on a hard, flat surface. Attach the soft side of the Velcro tape to the back of the body suit at shoulder level (with the soft side facing outward). Paint the straw hat with the green spray paint and allow paint to dry completely. Next, take your black paint and paint the turtle's shell pattern on the green straw hat and allow paint to dry completely.
Take the rough side of the Velcro tape and stick the rough side on the tape on the body suit. Now take your painted hat and place it on the sticky side of the Velcro tape and press firmly to make sure the tape attaches to the hat. Remember to make sure you use enough Velcro tape to firmly secure the hat to the body suit.
You can also draw the shell pattern on the stomach of the suit if you wish. As with all children's cute Halloween costumes, make sure that you include some reflective materials to help make your child visible after dark.
Halloween is a fun and exciting time for adults and children alike. Individuals who celebrate the witching season look forward to coming up with creative, original costumes. Parents like to dress their children in cute, memorable costumes. There are hundreds of cute Halloween costumes to choose from when deciding on your Halloween dress up experience.
Have a great time!
