Easy to Make Halloween Costumes - Simple Homemade Ideas

Are you seeking some tips and ideas for easy to make Halloween costumes?

Halloween, like any other holiday, only comes around once a year, but it seems that so many of us still wait until the last minute to figure out what kind of costume we are going to make, either for ourselves or for our kids.

When that happens, we become flustered and try to figure out some easy to make Halloween costumes that will not look totally last minute. Well, you're in luck, because we have five simple to make Halloween costumes that will be memorable, to say the least.

One of the common things that people do at Halloween when they wait until the last minute is head on down to the overpriced costume store and pay through the nose for something that would have cost us less than five dollars and a few minutes to make ourselves.

Refrain! Don't do it! Honestly, with these easy to make Halloween costumes, you'll be able to spend that money on something better, something more important, something that will be used over and over again, rather than for one night out of the year.

That's right. We don't tend to think about it in terms of that, but when we spend fifty to one hundred dollars on a costume, it's only for one night and rarely do people go as the same thing twice in a row, so that money is essentially going to waste. Don't fall for the hype when you can make your own for little money and just a little bit of time.

  • The Babe Magnet. This easy to make Halloween costume is just plain fun. And funny. All you need is a cardboard box that you can fit around your body, paint it black, and grab some toy dolls. Using glue, secure the dolls (female dolls, of course) to the box and you have yourself a Babe Magnet. Pretty clever, huh?

  • Pure Bad Luck. One of my all-time last minute favorite inventions. All you need is some old clothes, fake blood, and tooth black-out. If you want to be more elaborate, you can buy some fake scars as well, or a burn mark. Rip the clothes up, along the legs and arms, place blood marks on the skin beneath these tears, black out one or more teeth, add some scars or fake cuts on your forehead, and make sure you walk with a limp. You are instant bad luck! Cool!

  • Bag of Jelly Beans. For this easy to make Halloween costume, you'll need a bunch of small balloons and clear plastic wrap. Attach as many small balloons, filled only with enough air to make them look like large Jelly Beans, to your clothing. When done, wrap yourself up in plastic wrap and you have made yourself into a bag of Jelly Beans!

  • Baby Costume. Another of the easy to make Halloween costumes is the baby costume. This one requires a teddy bear, a pacifier, and some soft, preferably 'footie' pajamas. Clutch the teddy bear close to you, and suck on that pacifier and you have an instant baby costume.

  • Construction worker. If you have a tool belt and hard hat lying around, great. If not, you can usually find cheap imitations at your local toy store. Wear workboots, a plaid shirt with a tee-shirt underneath, and dirty jeans, coupled with the belt and hat, and you have yourself an instant construction worker.

These are five easy to make Halloween costumes that won't break the bank. Enjoy Halloween this year and just have some fun!
