So what are some ideas for a fall wedding that will be something to remember?
First of all, take the season into account when you are decorating. Your flowers, decorations, and colors can all include the traditional elements of the season.
For example, instead of roses, consider using mums, bouquets of brightly colored leaves, and include fall displays at your reception. While you don't have to incorporate scarecrows, fodder shocks or hay bales into your decor, strategically placed pumpkins and gourds can be very lovely and inviting.
When it comes to colors for fall wedding ideas, instead of going for the bright pastels of summer and spring, think about using burnt orange, dark green, yellow, red, and other vibrant hues. These will stand out amongst your decorations and give you a touch of the season as well.
How about fall wedding ideas pertaining to wedding favors?
Some people enjoy handing out favors at weddings. Although small bottles of bubbles are very popular, if you are having a fall wedding, then try to incorporate the season into this aspect of your celebration as well. Perhaps tie orange or red ribbons around your bubbles if you still want to give them away. If you're not tied to the bubbles, then consider small bottles of maple syrup or even caramel or candy apples as parting gifts.
When you're walking down the aisle, it's tradition to have the flower girl sprinkle pretty rose petals on the carpet. However, instead of flower petals, why not use small artificial leaves? You can use real leaves if you want to, but they might crunch under your feet, which could be a hindrance to your music.
As far as venues for fall wedding ideas go, autumn can be an excellent time to have an outdoor wedding. Some great places for these types of ceremonies and receptions include vineyards, orchards, farms, and parks. Just make sure that you have a shelter available in case it rains.
Now, how about the menu aspect of fall wedding ideas?
Food options vary with autumn weddings, too. Pumpkin and apple pies make great desserts, but so do caramel apples. Some people like to have heavy meals with roast turkey, quail, squash, mashed potatoes, green beans, and corn. Others prefer simpler foods.
The time of day that you are having your wedding will dictate your food choices. If you are having an evening wedding, for example, then you will want to ensure that you are giving your guests supper.
Some people actually enjoy having Halloween weddings and, for their fall wedding ideas, go so far as to make them themed. This can be a terrific idea if you love Halloween and want something different and memorable. A friend recently had a Halloween wedding and dressed up as a Renaissance maiden. All of the guests were asked to come dressed in their favorite time period. It was a lot of fun and definitely something that everyone will remember from here on out.
