Preschool Valentine Crafts and Projects for Little Kids and Children

Are you looking for some fun and interesting preschool Valentine crafts for the children?

Whether you have a classroom full of pre-schoolers, or you have a couple of your own, you know how excited they can get about Valentine's Day.

The excitement of candy, Valentines and yet another fantastic party is enough to get little kids bouncing off the walls, but the right crafts can help you to entertain the little ones and help them be involved in the holiday.

Here are some fine ideas for preschool Valentine crafts and projects.

  • How about making candy rings for all of your little one's friends? All you need are some chenille stems, some wrapped candies and glue. You just wrap the stem around a child's finger to get the size right. Once you've done this, place the "ring" on a table and add a little bit of craft glue to the center of it. Have little ones secure a candy to the glue and let dry. Kids will love wearing them, and you'll love keeping them busy making some of these preschool Valentine crafts for all of their friends.

  • Make your own Valentines for your little ones to pass around. Flatten some cupcake liners in pink or white. Using red or pink construction paper, draw heart shapes and let your preschooler cut them out with safety scissors. Use stickers to decorate the hearts and, if your little ones can write, let them write simple sayings such as "Be Mine" on the Valentines. Use a glue stick to secure the hearts to the cupcake liners and let your little ones sign their names to them. You can also add wrapped candies that your little ones have chosen to the Valentines for an even more personal touch.

  • Another preschool Valentine craft is to make a Love Bug. It's simple to do and won't take a whole lot of work, but little fingers can do the job just perfectly. You will need a cup and a ball made of polystyrene. You'll need red paint, black paint, red pipe cleaners, wiggly eyes, black and red craft foam and a heart shaped hole punch. Paint the ball black and the outside and bottom of a cup red. Once they are dry, glue the ball to the bottom of the cup. Attach the wiggly eyes to the ball as eyes. Punch three red hearts out of the craft foam and attach two to two pipe cleaners as antenna. Stick the other red heart between the eyes as a nose. Punch as many black hearts as you like and attach to the body of your love bug.

  • Yet another preschool Valentine craft is to make a paper heart. It's easy, but you might need to help a little bit with little ones. This is a better project for small groups of children. You will need white and pink tissue paper that's been cut into squares of about an inch, plus card stock or cardboard (even construction paper will work). You'll also need some glue and scissors for this preschool Valentine craft. Cut out a heart form from the cardstock or cardboard. Then, put the craft glue in the middle of the heart and shape it like a heart. Take pieces of the white tissue paper and wrap them around a pencil eraser, twist and remove the pencil. Once the middle is filled with white, do the same with the pink on the outside of the heart.

These fun preschool Valentine crafts are great for little ones to show how excited they are about this special occasion, and if you're lucky, you might be the Valentine.

We hope the kids enjoy these simple Valentine's Day handicraft projects!
