Invitation Wording Ideas for Various Types of Celebrations

Are you seeking inspiration for different invitation wording ideas?

It's not a great feeling getting ready to sit down and write out your invitations and finding yourself stuck for just the right wording. It can be a little frustrating to say the least.

There is hope for even the fussiest of writers, however. With today's technology, and the amazing information highways that we have available at our fingertips, even the most discriminating invitation writer can find the perfect wording for their invitation.

Here are some useful invitation wording ideas you could consider.

  • Wedding Invitations: Wedding invitations can be especially challenging in order to convey the personalities of the couple getting married. Some couples want their wedding to be extremely formal and proper, while others want to celebrate their union with joy and laughter. One way to stay in safe territory with a wedding invitation is to keep it romantic. A quote from a romantic poem or bible scripture is a definite way to ensure that everyone will be satisfied with your choice of invitation wording. If the couple has a favorite movie or book, perhaps there is a quote from that they will find particularly personal and love to have it included in their wedding invitation. You would, of course, include all of the pertinent information, such as date, time, place, etc. as well as the customary RSVP in the invitation, but it will be the unique wording that you pick out to accent the traditional invitation that will make this particular invite special.

  • Baby Shower Invitations: Then there are invitation wording ideas for baby showers. Baby shower invitations can be so much fun. The key points to always include in your baby shower invitation are the following: The mom and dad's names; the name and gender of the new or upcoming baby, if known; date, time, and location of the baby shower; RSVP information; any gift registry the family is registered with; and a cute baby rhyme, poem, or verse. Inspiration for this baby shower invitation wording idea can be found in a nursery rhyme, popular children's fairy tale, or book. You can even make up your own little rhyme and have a truly unique baby shower invitation.

  • Birthday Invitations: How about invitation wording ideas for birthday parties? Birthday invites are sometimes challenging. What can make this type of invitation easier is if the birthday party has a theme. If so, wording to match the theme will be easier to come by or think up. For example, if it is a boy's birthday and the theme is pirates, it would be appropriate to make the invitation in the shape of a ship and title it 'Ho, Ho, Ho, come walk the plank with us in celebration of Jack the Pirate's birthday'. For a girl, usually a princess or pink theme is popular. An example for both could be: 'Pretty in Pink Princess Party; don your prettiest pink princess gown and join Princess Katherine at the Wilson Castle for tea and cakes to celebrate her Highness' 6th birthday'.

  • Party Invitations: Invitation wording ideas for parties are usually quite straightforward, with all of the relevant party information included. Remember to include important information about gifts - are gifts expected? If so, what is appropriate? Many people today are opting out of receiving gifts and having money donated to favorite local charities. If it is a Christmas party and there is a 'Secret Santa', make sure your invited guests are made aware of this in your invite wording. In this case, something simple such as 'bring an anonymous boy gift in the value of $20.00 or less' would be appropriate. Don't forget to mention in your invitation if the party is meant to be a surprise!

  • Anniversary Invitations: Depending on the anniversary, there are many appropriate invitation wording ideas that can be used on anniversary invites. Use this website's search function to look for specifics in regards to the anniversary. Search for "60th wedding anniversary sayings", for example. You will always include the specific details in regards to the anniversary celebration, but it is nice to add something special such as a poem, verse, or quote for such an event. This will make your anniversary invitation just right for the occasion.

Just the right invitation wording ideas tie it all together to make your invite unique and special, making it the perfect invitation no matter the event.

All the best, and have fun!
